working principle

Particles in the air will scatter when irradiated by light. This phenomenon is called light scattering. Light scattering is related to factors such as particle size, light wave wavelength, particle refractive index, and light absorption characteristics of particles. But in terms of scattered light intensity and particle size, the dust particle counter has a basic law, that is, the intensity of scattered light from particles increases as the surface area of ​​the particles increases. In this way, as long as the intensity of the scattered light is measured, the size of the particles can be inferred, which is the basic principle of the light scattering particle counter.

Brief description of work process

Y09-6E provides a constant velocity sampling head, which is connected to the sampling port through a hose. The isokinetic sampling head helps to reduce the counting error of small particle sampling and should be used in every measurement. The isokinetic sampling head should always face upward when sampling typical indoor and outdoor aerosol particles. The instrument can be held in your hand or placed on a flat surface or tripod with the LCD screen facing the operator.

Where the dust particle counter is sampling a constant airflow, such as a clean room, air duct, downstream of a filter, etc., the airflow direction is always aligned with the opening of the constant velocity sampling head.

The hose connecting the isokinetic sampling head and the sampling port of the dust particle counter can be lengthened if necessary. However, a longer length will increase the burden on the sampling pump, reduce the air flow rate and cause premature failure of the sampling pump. It will also cause count loss, especially the increase in count loss of large particles. It is recommended to shorten the length of the hose as much as possible, and its length cannot exceed 4 feet.

The sampling height will also affect the readings, and the readings near the floor may be several times the height of the line of sight.

When using Y09-6E to analyze pollution problems, it should be noted whether all pollution is continuous, and some are the result of short-term events or a burst of particles. To determine the source of the pollution, multiple samples must be taken in the same place.
